Earring posts can get broken (the part that holds the earring to your ear); we can replace them easily by soldering on a new one. In the case of clips this fitting can be replaced however if the surface area is too small for the base of the clip, it will not be possible to convert.
Pegs or posts (the part that holds the earring to your ear), can be replaced simply by removing the old worn or snapped post and replacing with the new.
These styles of fittings can both be replaced without any soldering or complication, simply by reattaching to the loop which can be found on the original fittings.
Butterflies hold your earrings to the back of your ear: they come in all shapes, sizes, styles and materials from precious metal to plastic.
At some point in life our ears become a little softer than we might want, when this occurs, if we have a favourite pair of earrings, and the size of earrings is correct we can replace the post fitting with a clip.
With continental hinges, they consist of the part that locks over the back of the fitting, once through the ear lobe. This is a snap action which is sprung; the spring can in some cases be replaced. However, although they may appear expensive, a new set of fittings is a more long-term economic solution.
With sectioned drop earrings, the main wear area is the rings that hold the top to the bottom. This can be replaced by removing the worn link and adding or strengthening the present ring.
Due to the nature of creole earrings which is shell shape (hollow), the main wear part is the curved wire which is kept under tension, and fits through the ear, so the male part snaps safely into place at the corresponding female side, this wire can become distorted or broken and will require replacement.
Any stone which has been lost or requires replacement has occurred through no accident; the earrings and settings have been damaged, and will require work to them to make good. We have a large selection of stones which can be replaced in the missing gap.
A common European style of linked drop earring can be repaired with the removal of bars and replacement of the fitting post or clip.
We can recreate your favourite lost earring, (it is frankly sometimes less expensive to find another pair), however if you really want to, we can recreate by hand or 3D & CAD for you.
Screw fittings are a type of non-pierced fitting: they rely on tension to hold them to your ear lobe. The earring is literally screwed until comfortably tight, so it holds onto your ear lobe.
